The Gathering Place for leaders in Scotland

IoD Scotland welcomes members to new flagship premises at 10 Charlotte Square

IoD members from across the UK can now take advantage of a new flagship premises in Edinburgh at 10 Charlotte Square. Set only a few doors from the First Minister’s residence on the north side of the Square, the new premises signal a significant investment from the IoD in supporting business leaders in Scotland and across the UK.

The 3,000 sq. ft premises, set across two floors, ARE now open to members and their guests, boasting a new members’ lounge alongside a hot desk workroom, plus a variety of meeting rooms for between two and twelve people, with views of the Castle and Charlotte Square Gardens.

The Boardroom, which seats sixteen, is available for meetings along with the Director Development room with a fifty person capacity, and an impressive view to the Forth and beyond.

David Watt, Executive Director said “At present, the IoD has around 2,000 members in Scotland, and we look forward to welcoming them, along with other members from across the UK, to our new contemporary Scottish hub. In a location long celebrated as being at the heart of Scotland’s economic achievements, we hope to continue that tradition by supporting board directors to develop diversity of thought and purpose. Our new premises will help us to realise that goal, driving the ambitions of the IoD in Scotland.”

The historic Charlotte Square is one of the most prestigious areas of Edinburgh. Part of James Craig’s ‘New Town’, it was designed in the 1760s and completed in 1800 and has long been at the heart of Scotland’s economic success and wealth creation. Once a home for Edinburgh’s revered private banking institutions it is once again the core of business and political life in Edinburgh, thanks to a wholesale refurbishment of the buildings on all four sides of the Square.
