Maryhill & Possilpark Citizens Advice Bureau – Board Members

Maryhill & Possilpark Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) is celebrating 35 years of excellent information and advice provision to the Maryhill/Kelvin & Canal Ward of Glasgow, which is home to some of the most deprived communities in Scotland and Western Europe. We are an independent charitable organisation providing free, confidential, and impartial advice; we ensure individuals do not suffer through lack of knowledge of their rights and responsibilities, or of knowledge of the available services, or through an inability to express need effectively. In the last 35 years we have covered over 500,000 issues, 2,000 Tribunals, and £20m in client financial gains. Our commitment is to ensure the sustainability of our organisation and to increase access to information and advice via 1:1, innovative delivery channels.

Moving into 2017, our Bureau has appointed a new CO and a new Chair, Elizabeth Gray, who joined us recently after finishing a successful term as Chair of Turning Point, Scotland. We are now looking for someone with the right skills to join our existing Board and who is ready for the challenge of taking Maryhill & Possilpark CAB to the next level. If you have leadership skills, a positive influencer and a committed team-player, then we would like to hear from you.

We are seeking Board members with skills and expertise in Finance or Fundraising or Business Development in particular. Experience and understanding of the Third Sector in general and of the Advice Sector in particular is preferable, though not essential as a full induction is provided.
All new Board positions will be co-opted at first and co-opted again or elected at the next AGM.

How to apply
This search is being conducted exclusively on behalf of Maryhill & Possilpark Citizens Advice Bureau by BTA. Our leadership team have all worked in the voluntary sector and we use this experience to match organisations and individuals to create great appointments.
